Georgie’s Diner

28 Dec

There’s a new vegan friendly diner in town!  I was so unbelievably excited to discover this gem, just a town over in West Haven.  It’s not all vegan, or even close to all vegan, but they do have a spectacular vegan menu.  This was my second time visiting and it was just as good as the last!

I shared the falafel platter and grilled tofu plate.  The falafel is easily my favorite dish at Georgie’s, that I’ve tried at least!  The falafel patties seem to be grilled instead of fried, which I really like.  Alongside the falafel balls are pita wedges and a delicious, fresh cucumber salsa.  Oh, and I can’t forget the incredible tahini sauce!

The grilled tofu plate comes with stir fried vegetables and bulgar.  This dish was great, too!  The veggies were still nice and crisp, on top of the perfectly flavored grain.  I love tofu and would definitely order it again!

We ended our delightful meal with a slice of chocolate-banana cake.  When there is vegan cake on a menu, you know I must try it!  The cake is so good here!  Get this, the frosting is actually this chocolately-banana pudding!  I want to bathe in it.  This cake went quick.  The second the cake was placed on our table, my sister began to dig in.

This cake is definitely going to fill my dreams tonight!

I have been dreaming of falafel lately. That looks really delicious :)

Aaaaah, the chocolate cake… it looks so moist. Funny that the frosting is pudding– I was going to say that it looked like it had a pudding-like texture, as weird as that sounds :,D

I love your blog! I had to go all the way back to the beginning! I’m a fellow vegan and I’m in MA. The next time I come down to CT, I will absolutely have to try Miya’s after your (delicious) reviews. Thanks for the perspective on CT, it’s so much more vegan-friendly than I imagined. Happy blogging! :)
