Florida Fun!
17 Mar
I’m back from Florida! It was really fun. It took a really long time to get there, but it was definitely worth it. I got up at 4 am on Thursday and biked home to get my Mom’s car, packed, then went back to pick up everyone else who was coming. Before long, we were on the road! We stopped again in Brooklyn to pick up the last person and it was nonstop driving until we reached Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We stayed in a very fun house. I don’t have many photos, but someone did cook us a very delicious breakfast! Tempeh scramble, veggie sausages, and grits! So good.
Um yeah, so we drove from the time we woke up until we got to the campground in Florida the next day! It was very rainy. The camping space was super wet and crowded.

Lakeside Property?
We managed to score a spot that was relatively dry- great! We headed into the rain to see a bunch of bands, including Dead Prez! So coooooool. If you click that link, it will lead you to a video I took during their set. I wanted to embed it into the post, but I couldn’t figure it out! Oh well.
I don’t have many food photos, but we pretty much ate a lot of rice and beans, oreos, bread, Odwalla bars, and caramel corn. We brought five loaves of bread and ran out before the end of the trip, just to put it into perspective.

Oh, and we had boiled peanuts too! Those are tasty. When we were running low on food we made sandwiches filled with them. It was actually really awesome!

I saw Kimya Dawson! It was so good. I really love her music.

There was a lot of night time activities going on. Many sing-a-longs and lots of drunk people. Lots of fun! Eventually, it was time to leave. We headed out on Monday morning as the sun was riding and drove until we reached Richmond, Virginia. We stayed at a really sweet house and even got to see more music at a local bar. Fun!

Gosh, I apologize for such a half-assed post, but I am feeling a little off right now. I plan on updating on my kombucha soon, though! It’s looking great.
PS: Who wants to count how many times I used the word ‘fun’ in this post?

What a great post, girl! That looks like the perfect spring adventure! Isn’t Kimya Dawson great? She came to my college two years ago and brought her adorable newborn baby!

Gosh ! You described so well your trip that I’m tired now. Feel like if I made all that long journey with you. You must had “fun”
Sorry I didn’t count all the “fun” you wrote. I’m dead too, so I guess I should go to bed now just to take a short nap to recover a little bit.
Looks like you had one of those awesome weekends you look back on and just feel really good about life.
Your trip sounds like so much fun! I love camping/music festivals. Your new haircut sounds really cute. You should post a picture!

ciao from a foggy Italy
hi! i stumbled upon your blog not too long ago, and im glad i did. you are such an inspiration! i’ve recently converted to vegetarianism, but it seems i can only find awesome vegan food blogs. nothing wrong with that though. i just finished reading your blog all the way to the first post. that sure took a while, lol. keep on posting and being awesome.

You sure to get up to some adventures! Sounds like you had a fun time. Eating random food while camping is the best – like baked beans directly from the can. Yum!
Fun! I’ll be in FL in a month and can’t wait.
